Stylish Credit Cards

Most people have at least one credit card in their wallet or purse. When they were first introduced in the 1950’s the credit card designs were simple. Even up to a few decades ago the designs on credit cards were very standard, usually depicting the logo of the credit card company and maybe some colour.

It is now commonplace to see a varied range of credit cards that have random or significant imagery on the front. The use of images on the face of credit cards will make them more recognisable and so in a way will be a form of advertising. Many can instantly recognise the district green colour of an Egg Credit Card or the matte black of the Virgin Credit Card. Even the iconic yellow and blue of a Barclaycard is still used in newly issued credit cards today.

There have been credit cards with goldfish on them, one with a Hello Kitty on it from various banks and credit card companies, credit cards that look like wood, metal, or marble and even the Mint Credit Card that has one corner missing. This use of style will appeal more to the new credit card account holders. There will be more of an appeal towards fashion and being in trend instead of the benefits of the credit card account and what rewards will be offered.

The next evolution of the credit card embellishments is now offering consumers the ability to create their own images to then be placed on the credit card. This will be the ultimate in styling as it will allow credit card account holders to create a card design that is personal to them. From a favourite movie star to the family portrait, there is now no limit to the style on the card.
